Guide to a Joyful Heart
Tip of the Day:
Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statues. Psalm 119:155
God made the gift of salvation simple. All we have to do is believe and trust in His Son, Jesus Christ. It’s not enough just to believe that Jesus is the Son of God. We must trust in Him, as well. Part of trusting in Jesus is seeking to do God’s will, and in turn seeking Jesus’ will, because they are one and the same. Furthermore, if we are to do the will of God, we need to know His statues, His ways.
Yet, it’s sad to say, but for the wicked they are far from salvation. It states in the Bible, that we can not save ourselves. Only through the blood of Jesus can we be saved. Sin can only be covered by blood. Before Jesus Christ, Jews would cover their sins with animal blood sacrifices. When Jesus died on the cross His holy, guiltless blood sacrifice paid for all those who believe and trust in Him. Once Jesus gave His life to save the world, the need for animal sacrifices ended. Jesus made a way for us (all mankind, not just the Jews) back to God, our Heavenly Father. Even so, many people don’t accept this gift. They are unwilling to seek the truth and God’s statutes. Nevertheless, we as Christians are giving the mission to spread the good news of Jesus, and His love to all those we meet. We can not save others, but we can tell them about Jesus, and how they can receive His gift of salvation. Then, it’s up to them to accept or not.
