Pleasant Words

Guide to a Joyful Heart

Tip of the Day:

Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.  Proverbs 16: 24, KJV

Words are powerful.  Use them wisely.  Kind words can heal, comfort, and encourage.  No one ever regrets kind words, but always regrets words spoken in anger.  When angry or just frustrated, don’t speak, pray.  If possible, take a time out, even if it’s just a minute or two to regroup, settle yourself, and take a few slow deep breaths (this really does help to clear your brain).  Then, try to look at the situation with new eyes, or from another prospective.  It’s a problem that needs solving, not the end of the world.  Also, watch your tone.  It’s crazy how we can get into the habit of using a degrading or irritated tone with those closes to us.  Really take the time to listen to how you speak to others today.  Maybe even record yourself.  Then think would you like someone to speak to you that way.  Remember, be joyful in all that you do today.
